As the Landscape Labourer, you will be required to perform a variety of tasks involving physical labour and will be required to operate a variety of landscaping machines and tools. The Landscape Labourer will be involved in the improvement and beautification of multi-family residential properties. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing commercial landscaping, have experience with landscaping and maintenance duties.
Your contribution to the team includes:
- Load and unload supplies, equipment and materials and move to and from work areas
- Operate hand and power tools
- Clean up debris and yard waste to ensure a safe and well maintained work site
- Improve curb appeal through landscaping, painting signage, painting curbs, etc.
- Repair lawns by adding seed, soil, and/or peat moss where needed and maintain through cutting, trimming, raking, weeding, feeding, and watering
- Prune all flowers, shrubs and trees as necessary
- Tree planting and removal
- Control insect and fungal infestations through applying pesticides and herbicides
- Sweep and clean parking lots
- Practice work place safety at all times
- Perform other duties as required
What you need to be successful:
- 1+ years of previous landscaping and labourer experience
- Possess a valid driver’s license, clean drivers abstract, and a reliable vehicle
- Ability to multi-task and complete assigned duties efficiently
- Good communication skills and ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Willing and able to work in a fast pace environment
- Ability to ensure quality and safety of all work performed
- Applicator’s license to apply pesticides and herbicides an asset
- 24/7 availability may be required
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lb
- Travel to various properties as required
