As a Service Technician IV (Trades), you will play a critical role in maintaining and preparing our modular building fleet for both deployment and return. Your responsibilities will include repairs, construction, and customizations to ensure each unit meets customer specifications and safety standards. Work will primarily be performed at our yard and shop, with occasional travel to customer locations.

The ideal candidate is a skilled and versatile tradesperson with a background in general construction, and hands-on experience in areas such as flooring, window and wall repairs, and exterior siding.

Duties and Responsibilities

Inspection, Maintenance & Repairs

• Inspect modular units for damage, defects, and code compliance
• Perform structural repairs (walls, flooring, roofing, doors, windows)
• Complete drywall repairs, framing, and finish carpentry work
• Conduct flooring repairs/replacements (tile, linoleum, VCT)
• Repair or replace exterior siding (steel, tin) and roofing systems (EPDM)
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
• Perform preventative maintenance and service calls

Installation & Customization

• Install windows, doors, trim, and hardware
• Install kitchenettes, sinks, toilets, and related fixtures
• Prepare and customize units to meet customer specifications

Operations & Yard Support

• Clean, prepare, and stage modular units for delivery and return
• Load, unload, and organize furniture and modular components (VAPs)
• Maintain a clean and organized yard and shop environment

Troubleshooting & Documentation

• Diagnose issues and determine efficient repair solutions
• Complete service reports, work orders, and documentation accurately
• Perform data entry in internal systems (e.g., Onyx or equivalent)

Collaboration & Safety

• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and clients
• Support site setup and teardown as needed
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company standards

Travel

• Travel to local and occasional out-of-town job sites as required

Qualifications

• Journeyman certification an asset

• At least 4-5 years of relevant work experience in general construction or modular building maintenance
  Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written)

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Willingness to travel locally for occasional work at customer sites

Working Conditions

• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors

• Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions

• Occasional travel to local job sites may be required

Physical Requirements

• Able tolift up to 50 lbs

• Comfortable standing forextended periodsand performingrepetitive physical tasks

• Must be physically capable of performingdemanding manual labor
