Position Summary
As a Technical Trainer within the Enterprise Technology Services department, you will lead the development and delivery of comprehensive training programs for staff on various Division applications, including financial, human resources, and student information systems. This role is essential for creating engaging e-learning and instructor-led training (ILT) interactions, maintaining technical content, and providing high-level technical support within the ITS Help Desk team. You will collaborate closely with business system owners and programmers to ensure training content is refined continuously to meet evolving user needs and application upgrades.
Job Duties/Responsibilities

collaborate with stakeholders, programmers, and end-users to define business requirements and learning outcomes

create and maintain diverse training materials, including presentations, videos, instructor guides, user guides, assessments, and workflows

continuously test and refine content based on user feedback and changes to business processes or application features

monitor help desk tickets to identify trends and opportunities for improving self-help tools and training videos

provide engaging in-person and remote training via Google Classroom or Google Meet

follow the adult learning cycle (Discover, Link, Practice, Reflect, Apply) to accommodate various learning styles and technical skill levels

prepare end-user documentation and set up test environments to reflect current production settings

develop "how-to" training videos, including scriptwriting, recording, and editing

share expert knowledge of division applications with Help Desk staff through coaching, mentoring, and formal training

collaborate with analysts to create self-help knowledge base resources for staff

maintain and deliver specialized help desk training for new technical support analysts

plan and publish training schedules and dates in the Professional Development Registry (PDR)

book and prepare technology training labs or other necessary spaces forecast and prepare charges for training delivery to be billed to appropriate cost centers
Education/Qualifications

Technical Diploma, Certificate in Adult Education, or Certified Technical Trainer

a minimum three years related experience

excellent written and verbal skills, with a proven ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences

proficiency in using Google Classroom and Google Meet
-
demonstrated experience creating training videos using tools such as Camtasia, Screencastify, or other video editing software in-depth functional knowledge of various Division applications
Rate of Pay
$43.40 - $55.42 per hour
