Inspire Curiosity. Create Memorable Experiences. Help Children Thrive Beyond the Classroom. InnovOak School is seeking exceptional After School Care (Extended Day) Staff to join our growing team. This position is being created as a result of continued enrolment growth and the expansion of our Extended Day Program. Successful candidates will support our After School Care (Extended Day) program while helping build one of the region's leading independent school extended day programs.
This position is scheduled Monday through Friday from approximately 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the school year. As our programs continue to grow, additional opportunities may become available through Before School Care, PreKindergarten classroom support, Professional Activity Day camps, March Break camps, Summer Camps, and future OakQuest Camp leadership positions.

We provide a safe, engaging, and purposeful environment where students continue to learn, explore, create, and build relationships beyond the academic day. Activities are thoughtfully planned to encourage independence, creativity, teamwork, leadership, physical activity, and problem solving while ensuring children enjoy their time after school.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will: Supervise students during the After School Care (Extended Day) program from approximately 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Plan and lead engaging, organized, and purposeful daily activities. Create a safe, welcoming, and positive environment for all students. Encourage responsibility, independence, cooperation, creativity, and positive social interactions. Supervise indoor and outdoor activities. Support homework completion or quiet reading when appropriate. Prepare materials, activity spaces, and daily programming. Communicate professionally with parents and school staff. Follow school policies, procedures, and safety expectations at all times. Represent InnovOak professionally at all times.

Support Before School Care. Provide classroom support within the PreKindergarten program. Work Professional Activity Day programs. Assist with March Break and Summer Camps. Become an OakQuest Camp Lead or Camp Director.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate: Has a genuine passion for working with children. Enjoys creating engaging activities that children look forward to each day. Demonstrates excellent behaviour management through positive relationships, consistency, and enthusiasm. Understands how to create a balance of fun, structure, creativity, and independence. Builds positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Is dependable, energetic, organized, patient, and professional. Takes initiative and enjoys contributing new ideas to improve the program. Thrives in a collaborative school environment. Is interested in growing into expanded responsibilities as InnovOak continues to grow.
Qualifications
Experience working with children in a school, childcare, recreation, camp, or educational setting is preferred. Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT), Educational Assistant, Child and Youth Worker, Recreation, or related educational background is considered an asset. Current First Aid and CPR certification is considered an asset. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to supervise groups of children while creating a safe, engaging, and well-organized environment.
