About the role
West Fraser offers a range of exciting career opportunities for individuals seeking challenging and rewarding careers. Our division in Barwick, Ontario, is currently recruiting for Summer Students (Labourers, Engineers, and EHS).
**Mill Labourer:**will work a shift schedule of 12-hour days, nights, and weekends on a 4-on, 4-off rotation, averaging 42 hours per week. 10-hour day shifts are also available. Reporting to the Production and Area Team Leader(s), Student Mill Labourers will be required to work safely while performing a variety of tasks around the mill, which include housekeeping (sweeping and blowing down equipment), operating small equipment as trained, outside maintenance and clean-up, and supporting the operations as required.
**Environmental Health and Safety (EHS):**The EHS student will assist our EHS team in supporting both the environmental and safety management systems. This position offers hands-on experience in workplace safety, environmental compliance, and data management. The student will assist with safety observations, document control, policy integrations, and assessment and analysis of EHS programs. This is a Monday-to-Friday schedule.
**Engineer / Technologist:**will provide support to the maintenance and reliability teams, completing special projects as required.

Basic Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age and currently enrolled in a post-secondary program and returning to post-secondary studies in the fall. Proof of enrolment will be required.
- Valid Driver’s license;
- Experience in an industrial environment is an asset.
- Ability to perform physical labour, to work at heights, to work outside, and the ability to work in challenging conditions, including extreme heat, noise, and dust;
- A positive attitude, ability to work safely, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn.
What We Offer:
- The typical hourly rate for this role is $25.85
