About the role
Description
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for the accurate processing of Purchase Orders, Expense Requests, Bills, and related accounting transactions while ensuring compliance with the Company's purchasing policies and approval procedures. The role supports the Accounts Payable function by maintaining accurate records, monitoring procedures, reconciling vendor statements, and liaising with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate payment processing.
Requirements
Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Previous Experience in an Accounting firm will be an asset. Minimum of two (2) years' experience in Accounts Payable or a similar accounting role. Experience using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online or similar). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Must have a valid driver's License
Responsibilities Create Purchase Orders in accordance with company purchasing procedures Post expenses to the appropriate cash and bank accounts Ensure transactions are coded to the correct General Ledger accounts, departments, classes, and tax codes. Verify that all supporting documentation is attached before processing transactions Ensure all approvals comply with company authorization policies. Match Purchase Orders, Goods Received documentation (where applicable), and supplier invoices before processing payment. Assist with monthly vendor statement reconciliations. Resolve supplier-related issues promptly and professionally. Ensure all transactions are properly supported and filed. Meet departmental processing deadlines.
