About the role
Bookkeeper Part-Time for leading property management and developer client, North York. Marberg Job Number: 2860. Job Type: Temporary. Initial Term: ASAP for approximately 6-12 months, with possibility of additional extension. Existing Vacancy: Yes; new position. Target Compensation: From $35 per hour to $45 per hour, according to experience. Regular Work Hours: From 9 am to 5 pm, not including 1 hour unpaid lunch break, to be worked Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (21 work hours per week). Work Location: 100% onsite at client's North York location near TTC station. Position Reports To: Controller.
Responsibilities Summary
Part -Time Hours Bookkeeper to join small accounting team at corporate head office, supporting day-to-day accounting operations and ad hoc projects, and ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. Prepare, create, and post journal entries in both Yardi Voyager 7 and QuickBooks Online. Post and reconcile subsidiary ledgers, including accounts payable and related vendor accounts. Review, examine, and code invoices and vouchers for appropriate accounting distribution and approval processing Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors, responding to inquiries and maintaining positive vendor relationships. Perform bank reconciliations by comparing daily deposits and withdrawals against bank statements and investigating discrepancies as required. Prepare bank deposits and arrange for the deposit of cheques and other receipts. Maintain strict confidentiality of all financial, accounting, and vendor information. Provide general bookkeeping and accounting support and perform other duties related to the position as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Accounting or equivalent combination of work experience and education. Preferred Work Experience: At least 5+ years of full cycle bookkeeping / corporate accounting experience. Preferred Sector Experience: Property accounting and bookkeeping experience preferred.
Technical and Language Skills Requirements
Demonstrated proficiency in Yardi Voyager 7 mandatory (will be tested and/or confirmed via references). Demonstrated proficiency in QuickBooks Online mandatory (will be tested and/or confirmed via references). Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel (will be tested). Strong alpha numeric data entry and attention to detail (will be tested). Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted bookkeeping principles and practices (will be tested). Strong English written skills, including satisfactory business writing skills (may be tested). Strong English verbal communication skills and professional telephone manners.

Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and collaboratively, and in an advisory capacity, and liaise effectively with a wide and diverse range of internal and external business contacts.
Additional Requirements
Available for an onsite interview at client's office upon request. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request. Ability to work 100% onsite, abiding by organization health and safety policies. Ability to promptly provide recent, qualified employment references upon request who are available to speak with either Marberg or Marberg's client. Ability to declare personal Non-Conflict of Interest in execution of assignment responsibilities. Provision of certification of AODA and OHSA online training course completion prior to assignment start. Additional satisfactory Background Checks, Technical Skills Evaluations, Interpersonal Skills Assessment, and Employment References as required.
