Commercial Door Technician / Apprentice Wanted - Kelowna Area
We are looking for a skilled Commercial Door Technician or Apprentice with a minimum of two years of related experience to join our growing team. If you have experience servicing and installing commercial doors, dock equipment, gates, or access systems, we want to hear from you.
This position involves the installation, service, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial door systems.
The successful candidate will work independently and as part of a team while providing quality service to customers and maintaining a strong focus on safety and workmanship.
Responsibilities
Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial door systems, including sectional doors, rolling doors, high-speed doors, fire doors, automated entrances, gates, and loading dock equipment. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and complete repairs efficiently. Perform preventative maintenance and complete accurate service documentation. Maintain company vehicle, inventory, and equipment. Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and site personnel. Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Commercial door experience preferred; apprentices with a minimum of two years of related experience are encouraged to apply. Experience with rolling doors, sectional doors, dock levelers, automated entrances, gates, or specialty door systems is an asset. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Welding and/or electrical experience is an asset. Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight, weekend, and on-call work.
