The Driver and Vehicle Service Branch promotes public education and program delivery, fraud prevention and awareness, as well as regulatory driver and vehicle licensing functions critical to the division's transportation safety mandate within a digital and customer-focused operational environment.
About the job
In this job, you will:
- Process requests for access to driver, vehicle and carrier information products.
- Maintain and update related databases.
- Prepare Authorized Requestor contractual agreements.
- Respond to client inquiries and complaints regarding terms of agreements.
- Provide internal and external support staff with daily reports.
- Provide technical support by telephone to clients using Authorized Requestor Information System.
What you bring to the team
Technical expertise:
- ability to interpret and apply procedures regarding document management applications (e.g. Electronic Data Transfer Systems (EDT)) and computer hardware configurations including various software peripherals
- ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation (e.g. the Highway Traffic Act, Freedom of Information of Protection of Privacy Act)
- knowledge of computer operations, such as databases and word processing software (e.g. Word, Access)
- understanding of the IMS environment and database structure to access information
- understanding of contract management processes
Leadership and consultation skills
- you can assist technical support staff in resolving issues and documenting evidence of deviations from specifications
- you assess workload, establish priorities and manage multiple tasks while working with tight deadlines
Analytical and problem solving skills
- experience managing, maintaining and reconciling accounting and problem logs
- experience providing technical support to clients and troubleshooting software issues
- you can recommend the development of new products, identify and resolve discrepancies and develop test strategies and test cases for products testing
- ability to analyze and evaluate results to ensure specifications are met
Communication and interpersonal skills
- interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders
- written communication skills to create a variety of correspondence and reports
- oral communication skills to effectively respond to client queries
