About the role
Our client, Graybar, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Branch Manager to lead and grow the branch operations in Kentville, Nova Scotia. This role is ideal for a strategic leader who thrives on developing business opportunities, driving operational excellence, and building high-performing teams. Reporting to the Regional Vice President, the Branch Manager, you will have full accountability for branch performance—balancing sales growth, customer satisfaction, financial management, and employee development—while acting as a key ambassador of the company in the local market.
What You’ll Do
Leadership & Strategy Provide strategic direction and lead the execution of branch initiatives aligned with company objectives. Champion a culture of accountability, integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Act as a role model by consistently following company policies, procedures, and values.
Sales & Customer Growth
Maintain and grow sales volume while strengthening customer relationships. Identify and develop new business opportunities, products, and customers. Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers through meetings, calls, and industry events. Ensure all reasonable customer requests are handled promptly and professionally.
Operations & Financial Management
Oversee pricing strategies, inventory management, and inventory turns. Manage accounts receivable, credit risks, and cost controls. Prepare and manage annual, monthly, and weekly operational plans and budgets. Ensure error-free performance and high-quality service standards across the branch.
Team Development & People Management
Recruit, hire, train, coach, and mentor branch employees. Set clear expectations, goals, and deadlines; monitor progress and performance. Conduct regular sales and product training sessions. Provide consistent feedback, performance evaluations, recognition, and corrective action when needed. Foster respectful communication and collaboration across all departments.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure a safe working environment and adherence to all health and safety standards. Enforce company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. Ensure staff understand safety practices and incident-response procedures.

What You Bring
As the ideal candidate, you will bring a minimum of five years of relevant sales and operations experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and a degree in Business Administration or a related field. You have a strong understanding of budgeting and financial reporting, with the ability to read, prepare, and manage financial statements. Experience in the electrical distribution industry and familiarity with S.X. Enterprises are considered strong assets. You are proficient with Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and possess excellent prioritization, delegation, and time management skills.
