About the role
Macdonald's Home Health Care is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shop Technician to join our team. In this role, you will support the setup, preparation, and maintenance of mobility and home medical equipment, ensuring it is safe, clean, and ready for client use.
This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys working with tools, takes pride in quality work, and values being part of a team that makes a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Key Responsibilities

Set up, inspect, and prepare equipment for rentals, demonstrations, and client purchases

Clean, maintain, and perform quality checks on returned equipment

Assist Seating and Mobility Consultants with equipment trials and demonstrations

Follow company safety procedures to maintain a safe and organized work environment

Complete setup documentation and record work performed in internal systems

Assemble and adjust wheelchairs, scooters, and other mobility equipment

Gather and organize equipment, parts, and hardware required for setups
-
Ensure all equipment is prepared according to manufacturer specifications and client needs

Label equipment, parts, and accessories accurately
-
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop, seating, and demo areas
-
Prepare client documentation, including manuals and care instructions
Required Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Capability to lift heavy equipment up to 100 lbs
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, computers, and internet use
- Healthcare experience is an asset
