Job Purpose
Main responsibilities of the Technician are to support the AIMS R&D Engineering team after a product has been designed. The Technician shall manufacture, build, assemble and perform shop tests on completed components prior to shipment to clients.
Duties & Responsibilities
The day-to-day contributions include; the overall effective and safe completion of work orders for the production and manufacturing of PIP360 components. The Production Technician is expected to show a level of competence expected in the performance of the following tasks, with minimal oversight from their Supervisor.
- Manufacture standard and high-resolution Solar Monitoring Stations and sub-assembly components.
- Manufacture and machine high-resolution centrifugal pump monitoring equipment and associated components.
- Ensures production stock of parts for the manufacturing of PIP360 stations and sub-assemblies is available at all times above minimum order quantities (MOQs).
- Ensures manufactured assemblies and sub-assemblies, meet required test tolerances and are built to required approved engineering design.
- Assist in preparing parts list for the procurement lead in a timely manner, especially with parts that are sourced from non-domestic manufactures.
- Collaborates with production staff and engineering to improve the efficiencies in the production processes, including assembly and testing.
- Aids in the maintenance and repair of the AIMS facility.
- Document all steps, processes and procedure to manufacture, design or build.
- Any duties required for the Company.
Working Conditions
- Office based, consisting of an 8-hour day. Occasional extra hours as well as travel may be required to support AIMS and / or PIP360 to implement business strategies, plans or procedures. This may include the participation in trade shows and conferences in Canada.
- This position is exposed to routine tasks that can lead to repetitive strain injury. The position is primarily at a work bench with extended durations of sitting and standing while performing and completing production tasks.
Physical Requirements
The position may require the Technician to stand, sit or have repetitive actions for long hours, depending on the tasks.

Qualifications
Education This position requires a Journeyman ticket or similar in mechanical component assembly
Specialized Knowledge
The position shall have skills in soldering and machining (lathe and mill drill etc.) as well as working with mechanical and electrical component building. The Technician shall have the ability to multi-task and use of common sense with a great attention to detail.
Skills, & Abilities
The Technician shall be familiar with and have some experience in:
- Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Soldering, machining, fabrication, repair and troubleshooting.
- Organizational skills;
- Communication skills;
- Good use of time management;
- Able to multitask and prioritize;
- Work at a good pace to meet project / production deliverables.
Professional Certifications
Journeyman or Technologist Certification.
Experience
3 to 5 years in a machining, production, mechanical assembly and soldering are essential. Shall have the ability to work with small components and for long periods of time.
Salary range: from $57,200 to $68,240 annually ($27.50 to $33) an hour. Fulltime roll 40 hours a week. We also offer a Benefit and RRSP program.
