Job Title Senior Specialist, Data Automation Engineering Summary The Senior Specialist, Data Automation Engineering, plays a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining automated data pipelines and solutions. This role enhances data quality, efficiency, and accessibility across systems to support better decision-making and operational excellence. What You’ll Do Design, develop, and implement scalable and efficient data automation solutions using Python, SQL, and orchestration tools Lead development and maintenance of ETL/ELT pipelines ensuring data integrity and timely delivery Translate business and analytics requirements into technical data solutions in collaboration with stakeholders Optimize data pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency Implement data governance, quality, and security standards across workflows Troubleshoot complex data issues and ensure minimal business disruption Develop and maintain documentation for pipelines and processes Mentor junior team members and drive best practices in data engineering Stay current with emerging data engineering and automation technologies What You Bring Strong expertise in data engineering, automation, and pipeline development Advanced SQL skills and proficiency in Python (or similar scripting language) Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and related services Knowledge of data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake, Redshift, or Synapse Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git) Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills Ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Experience optimizing data performance and managing large datasets Minimum Requirements Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience. Preferable Skills & Experience Experience with data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Data Factory) Exposure to big data technologies and distributed processing Experience working with structured and unstructured datasets Background in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or supply chain data environments Experience mentoring or leading technical workstreams We are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
