The Nipissing Wellness Ontario Health Team (NWOHT) brings together health system partners across the District of Nipissing to advance patient-centred care. Working collaboratively across organizations, sectors, and communities, the OHT supports initiatives that improve coordination, strengthen service delivery, and address local healthcare needs through shared planning and implementation.

Position Summary

The Associate Program Manager supports the implementation of collaborative priorities by facilitating coordinated action across partners and maintaining alignment between initiatives and the NWOHT’s operational plan. The role focuses on aligning diverse perspectives and translating into shared priorities and coordinated activities, ensuring initiatives progress in a structured and consistent manner to completion, while supporting NWOHT objectives. This is a facilitative role that balances collaborative engagement and influence with disciplined program management practices. While operating within established governance structures, the Associate Program Manager demonstrates initiative, adaptability, and ownership in advancing deliverables and supporting coordinated care efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Program Management

Build and maintain program-level oversight across initiatives to ensure alignment with operational plan priorities, and delivery of outcomes and benefits. Facilitate collaboration among health and social service providers across Nipissing to support coordinated planning and implementation. Coordinate working groups and project teams, including action tracking, follow-up, and accountability for assigned deliverables. Operationalize the collaborative decision-making agreement and planning processes to identify and address improvement opportunities in local healthcare service delivery. Support NWOHT staff where programs and initiatives entail joint accountability.

Implementation and Change Enablement

Support change adoption by working with partners to communicate value, address barriers, and facilitate alignment with evolving initiatives. Take ownership of assigned initiatives, maintaining accountability for outcomes and benefits while proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and next steps. Gather feedback from partners and adapt implementation approaches to support successful adoption and sustainability.

Communication, Governance, and Reporting

Facilitate communication across NWOHT members and stakeholders to enhance visibility, transparency, and collaboration. Prepare strategic briefing materials, presentations, and reporting to support governance bodies (i.e. NWOHT Collaboration Council) and executive decision-making. Gather, analyze, and synthesize data to support program monitoring, reporting, and evaluation.

Stakeholder Engagement

Proactively consult with key partners to align diverse perspectives toward common goals through collaborative dialogue. Build and maintain strong working relationships with partners and stakeholders to promote shared understanding, trust, and coordinated action.

Environmental Awareness and Adaptive Execution

Build and maintain awareness of Ministry of Health, Ontario Health, and relevant policy directions impacting OHT initiatives. Monitor the evolving system environment and adapt priorities and approaches to support shifting mandates and opportunities.

Skills

Strong oral and written communication skills, including experience preparing briefing notes, reports, proposals, presentations, and decision materials. Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement abilities. Ability to support and eventually manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Familiarity with program management tools and structured implementation approaches. Ability to support team members on an ad hoc basis to support new and ongoing NWOHT deliverables. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in health administration, public health, business administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is considered an asset).

Experience

1 - 3 year(s) of progressive experience in project coordination, program implementation, health system planning, or program management, preferably within healthcare. Experience working within multi-stakeholder environments or collaborative initiatives is preferred. Knowledge of Ontario healthcare systems and coordinated care initiatives is an asset.

Pay

Annual Salary Range: $67,000 – $79,000 (6 month fixed-term contract, with possible extension).

Work Environment

Hybrid role at North Bay office, with remote options and occasional travel within Nipissing geography. Candidates must reside in the Province of Ontario.
