Service Technician - Full-Time | Toronto, ON
Position Summary
The Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing packaging equipment at customer facilities and within the company workshop. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to provide excellent customer support while minimizing equipment downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair packaging and industrial equipment.
Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance services.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues.
Complete accurate service reports and maintenance documentation.
Travel to customer sites to provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting.
Deliver basic operator training and recommend preventive maintenance practices.
Communicate recurring equipment issues and improvement opportunities to internal teams.
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards.
Qualifications
Strong maintenance and repair experience with packaging or industrial equipment.
Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
Experience in field service operations, including customer site visits and service documentation.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Previous experience as an industrial, mechanical, or electromechanical technician is an asset.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to customer locations.
Commitment to safe work practices and continuous improvement.
Diploma or certification in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electro-Mechanical Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
Additional Requirement
Minimum 3 years of experience in the packaging and container manufacturing industry, with hands-on exposure to equipment installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
