WE ARE SEEKING A JOURNEYPERSON ELECTRICIAN!
The Opportunity
McKay Métis Contracting is seeking an experienced Journeyperson Electrician.
THE ROLE
The successful candidate will bring strong technical skills in diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems while providing ongoing support to the BET team.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure reliability and safety.
- Collaborate with the Bird Environmental Technician (BET) team to support operations and resolve electrical issues.
- Work with specialized systems, including Scully equipment, ensuring safe and compliant operation.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Document maintenance activities and recommend system improvements.
- Ensure all work complies with electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.
REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES
- Journeyperson Electrician certification required.
- Red Seal Endorsement is an asset or currently working towards completion.
- Mechanically inclined regarding small diesel engines
- Proven experience diagnosing and troubleshooting complex electrical issues
- Proficiency in English, both verbally and written
- Pre-employment testing will be required.
- CSTS’20, BSO, CSO or equivalent
- Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds, and physically able to perform all duties
- Must be flexible and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Must be dependable and reliable
SCHEDULE
- The shift for this position is 10 days, followed by 5 days off rotation working 12-hour days.
SALARY
- Competitive compensation package.
