About the Opportunity
Calling all Site Superintendents. We’re currently working a number of Site Superintendent searches with established ICI general contractors across Red Deer, Kelowna, Edmonton, and Calgary. These are firms with real, secured backlog and strong site teams looking for experienced supers who can run a commercial job site from mobilization through to close-out.
Whether you’re actively looking or simply open to the right opportunity closer to home, we’d like to hear from you. You’ll take full ownership of on-site delivery; safety, schedule, quality, and trades, working alongside project managers and coordinators to bring ICI projects across the office, institutional, industrial, and multi-family sectors to the finish line. Duties include but are not limited to: Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of all on-site construction activities from mobilization through to project close-out Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, trades, suppliers, and site labour to keep the project on program Manage site logistics, sequencing, and productivity to meet project milestones and completion dates Enforce and lead health, safety, and environmental compliance on site, ensuring adherence to company and regulatory standards Conduct daily site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety meetings; maintain site documentation and daily logs Review drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to confirm work is built to design intent and quality standards Monitor workmanship and quality control, identifying and resolving deficiencies before they affect the schedule Coordinate material deliveries, site access, hoisting, and equipment to keep trades productive Work closely with the Project Manager and Coordinator on schedule updates, RFIs, and change management Liaise with consultants, inspectors, and authorities during site reviews and inspections Manage and mentor site staff, apprentices, and labourers, setting the standard for the site team Lead project close-out at the site level, including deficiency completion, client walkthroughs, and turnover Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times Build strong working relationships with trades, clients, and consultants on site
About You
The successful candidate will have the following: 5+ years of site supervision experience on commercial or ICI construction projects (office, retail, institutional, industrial, or multi-family) Proven ability to run a commercial job site independently from mobilization through to close-out Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, and site scheduling Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations; safety certifications (CSTS, OSSA, first aid) are an asset Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage trades and site staff Proficiency with site documentation and coordination tools; experience with Procore or similar is an asset Knowledge of building codes and construction standards across the Alberta and Okanagan markets is an asset Gold Seal Certification (GSC) or a trade or technical background is an asset Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle required
About the Job Competitive base salary: $95,000 to $140,000, depending on market and experience Vehicle allowance or company truck, plus a comprehensive benefits package Multiple opportunities across Red Deer, Kelowna, Edmonton, and Calgary Strong pipeline of secured ICI work with established general contractors Collaborative site teams with long-term growth and progression potential
