Duties:
The Bilingual Resource Coordinator is responsible for duties relating to the delivery of service for the Child and Family Services program. Services are delivered in accordance with the Child and Family Services Act, along with the corresponding standards and service delivery principles. Primary duties involve hiring and management of family support/direct service workers; ongoing monitoring and reporting regarding compliance with program legislation and policies; providing program information to Case Managers, Family Support/Direct Support Providers, parents and community groups; and the development of new in home and community services. Other major activities include: case management (i.e. assessing needs, intake, service planning and delivery, counseling); service coordination; developing independence through employment; liaising with participants and all the levels of the private and public sector. Conducts activities based on knowledge and understanding of other health and social services programs. Duties to be performed in English and French.
Qualifications:
Essential:
Post secondary education in Human Services with related work experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered Experience working with children, families and/or adults in a social services setting to plan, coordinate and implement services Experience in management activities such as recruitment and labour relations, preferably within a unionized environment, and the ability to lead and supervise a team Effective conflict resolution skills Excellent English verbal communication skills Strong English written communication skills Excellent French verbal communication skills Strong French written communication skills Excellent organizational skills with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines Experience in monitoring expenses, scheduling staff and maintaining confidential records Experience interpreting and applying acts, regulations and/or policies and procedures A strong understanding of cultural and socio-economic differences Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar software applications
