Position Summary
Under the direction of the Manager, Events and Digital Marketing, the Marketing and Communications Associate supports the planning, development, and delivery of marketing, communications, and event initiatives that enhance Confederation College’s reputation and engagement with internal and external audiences.
The incumbent serves as the lead for internal communications, creating and coordinating content for College newsletters, digital channels, and other internal platforms. They also lead social media content creation, assist with short-term marketing campaigns, and digital advertising placements that promote College initiatives and events.
In collaboration with College departments and external partners, the incumbent provides support for College event bookings and execution, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and brand standards. Through effective coordination, content development, and digital engagement, the Marketing and Communications Associate helps advance the College’s strategic objectives and strengthen its community presence.

Demonstrated experience building and maintaining an effective presence on social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok), including content creation, posting, and engagement.
Experience developing and implementing communications, media relations, and public relations initiatives.
Experience supporting marketing activities, including coordinating advertising placements with media companies and vendors.
Experience providing logistical or administrative support for events.
Familiarity with Google platforms and tools such as Ads, Analytics, and Drive.
Strong understanding of online best practices including accessibility ( AODA ), privacy, internet law, and Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation ( CASL ).
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other standard office applications.
Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to build positive working relationships.
Collaborative team player with a commitment to providing high-quality, timely customer service.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle issues with tact and diplomacy.
Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative and creativity in developing solutions.
Experience with photography and photo editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop).
Knowledge of video storyboarding, production, and editing considered an asset.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere) considered an asset.
