What you’ll be doing
As the Sr. Specialist, OTC Derivatives, APAC Regulatory Operations, you will be joining the OTC Derivatives team within Capital Markets and Wealth Management Operations. You will provide leadership and oversight on the operational controls surrounding Capital Markets Regulatory Trade reporting. You will participate in control executions and project activities with emphasis on defining new required controls to ensure compliance with multiple regulatory jurisdictions. You will work with stakeholders to develop a product vision that satisfies requirements. You will present to business partners and executives on the quality of our regulatory performance. You will apply advanced analytical skills to analyze data from multiple external and internal data sources to identify potential gaps in reporting. You are confident, thorough and have the ability to use good judgment when making decisions involving a high degree of attention to detail.

How you’ll succeed
- OTC Derivative products knowledge & experience - Demonstrate working knowledge of the structure of derivatives transactions from both a theoretical and practical viewpoint as well as the basic finance principles that underlie them. Possess a University degree (Economics/Finance preferred) and/or 3 - 4 years of business related experience. Confident thorough and have the ability to use good judgment when making decisions involving a high degree of attention to detail.
- Communication & Collaboration - Demonstrate effective communication skills necessary to interpret and convey data that is often very technical. Understand that collaboration can transform a good idea into a great one and the power of an inclusive team that enjoys working together to bring a shared vision to life.
- Regulatory knowledge - Act as an SME, explains the purpose and necessity of regulations, policies, and guidelines. Identify major agencies and company departments charged with adherence. Define major types of compliance, audit and enforcement mechanisms. Examine the impact of various policies and regulations on the customer. Ensure compliance with all CIBC regulatory training and ensure these programs and policies are applied consistently across the business.
- Digital Innovation Tools - Experience with Alteryx, SQL, Tableau or similar applications is an asset.
