Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of QA experience with a strong focus on automation
• Hands-on experience building automation solutions using Playwright
• (Open to candidates with strong Selenium background transitioning into Playwright)
• Proven experience designing and developing automation frameworks from scratch
• Experience leading QA automation initiatives and/or mentoring team members
• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java)

• Experience working in a large enterprise banking/financial services environment or wealth management

Job Description Insight Global is looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join a high-impact initiative focused on modernizing automation capabilities and transitioning to a new testing framework. This individual will play a key role in driving automation strategy, improving test coverage, and leading framework development efforts within a fast-paced engineering environment. This role is 2x per week in office in Downtown Toronto.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks from the ground up
• Lead the transition from legacy testing approaches to a modern automation framework (Playwright)
• Develop and execute automated test scripts using Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript preferred; open to Python/Java/Selenium background)
• Partner with engineering and product teams to identify automation opportunities and mitigate manual testing gaps
• Drive best practices across QA automation, including code quality, reusability, and CI/CD integration
• Mentor and guide junior QA engineers and contribute to overall automation strategy and roadmap
