About the role
About the Role The Director of Finance is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial health, strategy, and operations of the organization. This role partners closely with executive leadership to drive performance, ensure financial discipline, and support long-term growth through strong planning, analysis, and controls.
Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Strategy Act as a strategic finance partner to the executive team Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term modeling Translate business strategy into financial targets and actionable insights Support growth initiatives, pricing decisions, and investment analysis Financial Reporting & Controls Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting (management & statutory) Maintain strong internal controls, policies, and procedures Lead audit processes and liaise with external auditors and advisors Operational Finance Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance KPIs Analyze variances and provide clear explanations and recommendations Optimize cost structures and improve financial efficiency Support system implementations and process improvements Team Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team Establish clear roles, workflows, and performance expectations Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement Compliance & Risk Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, and regulations Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies Support governance and board-level reporting as needed
Qualifications & Experience CPA designation required 10–15+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting Proven experience in a leadership role (Controller, Senior Manager, Director) Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and controls Experience working closely with senior leadership or ownership Background in industry, services, tech is an asset
