The Industrial Millwright Technician plays a pivotal role on the Maintenance & Facilities team. This position is crucial for enhancing and maintaining customer satisfaction by leading efforts to identify, escalate, and resolve mechanical issues and apply preventative maintenance practices.
This position is based out of Scarborough, Ontario.
In addition to annual initiatives, the key responsibilities are as follows
Key Accountabilities
Troubleshooting, observing, and performing diagnosis of mechanical equipment failures and making necessary corrective actions and/or recommendations Dismantling and assembling of various machine parts in order to perform repairs using hand and power tools Analyzing machine errors and work with operators to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues Repairing broken or defective machine parts, as required, with the use of welding and/or brazing tools Using specialized tools, such as micrometers and plumb bobs, to calibrate and align equipment Reviewing and following highly technical and complex machinery manuals Consistently adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures All other duties as many be assigned
What We’re Looking For
To Thrive In This Role, You Should Bring
Minimum 4 years’ experience with machinery and construction equipment.
Minimum 3 years’ Millwrighting experience
Millwright certificate or Apprenticeship Good familiarity with different types of manufacturing equipment, including milling machines, lathes, pneumatics, and hydraulics Strong hand-eye coordination and flexibility using tools Superior critical thinking and problem-solving skills Operating with a sense of urgency and consistently delivering results. Strong leadership abilities with a collaborative, team-oriented approach. Self-directed with a commitment to achieving objectives in a time-sensitive environment Capable of safely lifting up to 60lbs Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to simplify complex problems, conduct thorough analyses, and provide clear recommendations.
