JOB DESCRIPTION: $70-$85/hour - 12 Month Contract - Hybrid 3 Days/Week Insight Global is looking for a candidate who has experience designing and building low latency, high-performance Java trading systems, with a strong focus on developing and enhancing pre-trade validation engines to ensure trade accuracy before execution. The engineer will create scalable, highly available distributed systems for real-time trade processing, while partnering closely with traders and business stakeholders to understand workflows and requirements. Responsibilities also include optimizing performance through advanced multithreading and concurrency techniques, contributing to architecture and platform design decisions, and troubleshooting real-time, high-priority production issues. The position requires ongoing collaboration with global teams across multiple time zones within a fast-paced environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of hands-on Java backend development experience
• Strong experience with low latency / real-time systems
• Deep understanding of Multithreading & concurrency, JVM internals (garbage collection, memory management), Data structures & performance optimization, and Non-blocking IO
• Background working in a front-office or trading environment (investment banking preferred)
• Strong experience designing high – performance systems and building scalable, distributed architectures
• Proven ability to work in high-pressure, production-critical environments
• Excellent communication skills with ability to interact directly with traders and stakeholders

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience with Synthetic / Delta One trading
• Knowledge of Order lifecycle, pre-trade validation workflows, FIX messaging, or Inventory / locate processes
• Experience with Prime Brokerage or Financing businesses
• Exposure to GCP or cloud-based infrastructure
• UI development experience
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices
• Understanding of risk management and regulatory environments in banking
