Company Description The Recovered Arts Film & Theatre Collective supports people in addiction recovery by offering healing through the creative arts of film and theatre.
Call for Video Production Volunteers The Recovered Arts Collective is producing a series of training videos for a local charity providing mental health support and suicide prevention and we are looking for a few skilled video technicians to help in their creation. We will be shooting on July 14th and July 21st, 6-8 hr days in Vancouver, BC.
Crew Call: Lighting Videographer: Shooting with 2 iPhones using the "Blackmagic Camera" app; suitable for limited budgets and small spaces.
Sound Mixer: Recording dialogue for 5 separate sitting interviews.
Set Decorator: Enhancing and beautifying the frame on location using available resources.
Video Editor: Assemble and refine five concise 1-minute training videos, providing both horizontal and vertical deliverables for each to suit various platform requirements. Preferably using Davinci Resolve as this is what the Producer/Director utilizes.
We welcome and support applications from people with lived experience of addiction and mental health challenges, as well as members of the IBPOC and LGBTQ+ communities.

Overview
The Recovered Arts Collective is the creation of Artistic Director John-David (JD) Hutchison, a Vancouver-based filmmaker and director with lived experience of the healing power of the arts in sustaining recovery from alcohol and drugs. The Collective aims to create a community of film and theatre artists (professionals) to use the mediums of filmmaking and theatre to support others as they embark on and maintain lives in recovery. Individuals are empowered to explore their journey, from the reasons for addiction through to living life in sobriety, through storytelling and creative wellbeing activities. The program supports sustained recovery from addictions of all kinds by building community and articulating experiences to support positive change.
By creating safe and inviting spaces to learn, live, and grow, this community assists those in recovery to find healing through the creative arts.
Goal: Apply artistic expression to support sustained recovery
-Share passion and knowledge of the technique of filmmaking and theatre production to inspire continued recovery though living a creative life. -Peer-to-peer education in film and theatre-based creative outlets, including: *Filmmaking - Screenwriting, directing, cinematography, editing, and acting. *Theatre - Playwriting, directing, stagecraft, and acting. *Create film and theatre art to tell stories of addiction and recovery, by creating enriching experiences for audiences through: *Dramatic, comedic and documentary short films/videos *Theatrical presentations; showcases, fringe fests
