We’re looking for a Panel Sales Representative to join our Sales and Marketing
team. Our head office houses Tolko’s corporate services groups including Sales, Marketing & Logistics, Finance, Accounting & Credit, IT, Procurement and Human Resources.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications
- Three to five years’ relevant experience in sales, marketing, customer service, or a related business environment.
- Post-secondary education in business, forestry, or a related field.
- A strong understanding of the forest products industry and the ability to apply market knowledge to sales strategies and customer decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to manage frequent interruptions and competing priorities.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making, with the confidence to negotiate, resolve customer concerns, and support business outcomes.
- A resourceful team player who can work collaboratively with internal teams while being independently effective.
- Strong computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, mathematical aptitude, and strong negotiating skills.

In this role, you will
- Support the strategic objectives of the Strand Based Business Sales Department.
- Maximize net return through effective product planning, sales strategies, and ongoing monitoring of market conditions and competitor actions.
- Use Tolko’s Machine Hour Contribution model to help ensure strong net margin returns for the Strand Based Business.
- Target markets, geographic regions, and customer segments that will yield above-average returns over the medium term.
- Develop, maintain, and service an account base for Strand Based Business products across North America.
- Work with the sales team and sales coordinator to develop weekly and periodic sales lists for external customers.
- Manage finished inventory levels with consideration for inventory costs, market conditions, and product deterioration.
- Provide regular updates to internal customers on market trends, customer feedback, and program effectiveness.
- Negotiate fair settlements of customer claims on behalf of the business units.
- Coordinate with production and transportation teams to support effective product flow from the mill to the customer.
- Bring your ideas, changes, and improvements forward to support innovation and Tolko’s strategic plan.
