Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to relocate to beautiful Salt Spring Island. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in a fast-paced restaurant environment on our 5 acre farm that sits in a sunny valley. This role requires a passion for food, excellent food handling practices, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The Line Cook will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests by ensuring timely and consistent meal preparation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation standards
• Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
• Cook dishes with precision, ensuring proper temperature, texture, and presentation
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen station throughout the shift
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe dining environment
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy hours
• Restock supplies and assist with inventory management as needed
• Serve food promptly to ensure timely delivery to guests

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environment preferred
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and meal assembly
• Familiarity with food safety standards and proper handling procedures
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and evenings as needed

Simple, low-cost housing will be avaiable for your relocation and rent is not included in pay. Tips are also a valuable part of this job; 3 to 4$/hr in low season and 5-7hr/ in high season.
