About the role
Mechanical Site Inspector (Building Systems) | GTA, ON
The Opportunity
We are partnering with a well-established M & E consulting engineering firm to support the hire of a Mechanical Site Inspector. This role is primarily site-based, supporting high-rise and low-rise multi-residential developments (95% of projects) across the GTA, with occasional exposure to other building types as required.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct on-site inspections of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing) during construction. Monitor work completed by general contractors and M&E subcontractors. Identify deficiencies, non-compliance issues, and construction discrepancies. Prepare detailed field reports documenting site conditions and findings. Track and follow up on deficiencies to ensure timely resolution. Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders on-site. Ensure installations align with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in mechanical construction, site inspection, or related field roles. Strong hands-on experience working with general contractors and M&E trades. Mechanical expertise is mandatory; electrical knowledge is considered an asset. Proven experience in residential construction projects (high-rise or low-rise). Strong report writing and documentation skills. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field is considered an asset. Ability to work independently on-site and make practical, experience-based decisions.
Compensation Transparency
The expected compensation for this role is approximately $100,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
