We are currently seeking an energetic Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at our Goodwood facility! What We Offer: Free Parking Health, Dental and Vision benefits RRSP match Bonus Program PPE provided / Safety Boot Allowance $30/hr - $38/hr depending on experience Primary Responsibilities and Duties: Ensure all of our equipment and machinery (container tippers, excavators, material handlers, loaders, skid steers, shunt trucks and container chassis) is maintained and operational . Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical problems across a wide variety of heavy equipment used in scrap metal processing. Perform preventive maintenance services and major rebuilds following manufacturer guidelines and yard procedures. Assist with welding and fabrication to repair buckets, grapples, and other attachments. Assist in managing inventory levels to minimize downtime. Keep accurate records of maintenance tasks, parts used and equipment hours in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department. Maintain a clean and tidy work area and assist with general housekeeping in the maintenance shop. Maintain compliance with safety regulations and environmental policies. Qualifications and Skills: Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic or equivalent certification with broad heavy equipment experience. Broad mechanical aptitude across hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and diesel systems Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics and use diagnostic tools effectively. Strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Proficiency with MaintainX or similar maintenance software Selfmotivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Reliable transportation to our facility; the site is not accessible by public transportation. Schedule: Monday-Friday from 7:00am-5:00pm and Saturdays from 7am-12pm as needed Payrate: $30/hr - $38/hr depending on experience *This role is not accessible by public transportation and will require other means of reliable transportation to get to and from work* *Applicants must be authorized to work in Canada. Requirements
