Scheduling and management support. What you will do Perform assisted installation, commissioning, and verification activities on Fire Alarm related equipment, including connection of devices and circuits. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittals, and specifications. Complete verification reports for submittal to customers and carry out system acceptance tests with AHJ’s and other interested parties. Complete As Built drawings on the completion of the job. Maintain up to date knowledge of various product lines. Identify general deficiencies and code issues in the field during verification. Travel throughout the District business area when required. Conduct small programming modifications to an existing system with supervision. Program small systems (upon training). Adhere to all OSHA and SimplexGrinnell safety policies and procedures. What we look for Required Completion of a college diploma in Fire Protection, an Electrical/Electronics Technician program, an Electrical Apprenticeship, a related field, or equivalent work experience. Candidates currently pursuing these qualifications are also encouraged to apply. This role may require travel for out-of-town projects, primarily within British Columbia and the Yukon. The ideal candidate must be willing and able to travel as needed. Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals. Possess strong communication and report/document writing skills Experience with hand tools test equipment, multi-meter usage, digital analyzer and commissioning devices. Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs. Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc. Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements. Demonstrate a high level of customer service. Ability to work well with team members. Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times. Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly. Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements. Able to pass a pre-employment background check. Preferred CFAA or ASTTBC certification. HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $26-34 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
