Job Description Title: Sealer/Prepper Department: Paint Reports To: Production Supervisor Overview The primary role of the Sealer/Prepper is to prepare equipment for painting through sealing, masking, sanding and other applications. Roles & Responsibilities * Operate sealing equipment or use filler to fill holes, dents, and seams. * File, grind, and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools. * Mask and tape surfaces in preparation for painting. * Mix, blend, and match paint colors. * Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns. * Monitor parts usage and report on any materials issues. * Assist in ordering replacement equipment, parts and supplies. * Perform in a team environment with minimal supervision. * Performs all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code. * Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities * Completion of college/vocational or technical training in a related field is an asset. * Previous experience working with sheet metal is an asset. * Previous autobody prep experience is an asset. * Ability to work independently. * Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing * The ability to read and interpret blueprints is an asset. * Must have the physical ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 35 lbs. * Must be able to distinguish colours. Working Conditions * Commercial/Industrial environment. * Manual dexterity required to use necessary tools. * Exercise caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards. * Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment). * Long periods of standing. * Overtime as required.
