There is no option to work remotely. Responsibilities Tasks Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions Address customers' complaints or concerns Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment Perform emergency roadside repairs Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle Perform preventive maintenance Receive and relay information to central dispatch Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo Credentials Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses AZ class license Air Brakes Endorsement Experience and specialization Documentation knowledge Bill of lading Driver logbook Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip) Trans-border documentation Trip reports Benefits Health benefits Health care plan
What you’ll do
Plan and adjust routes, transport cargo on international routes, address customer concerns, and maintain communication with central dispatch. Inspect and maintain the vehicle, perform roadside repairs, secure cargo, and record cargo, trip, service-hour, distance, and fuel information.
Requirements
A secondary school graduation certificate and an AZ class license with an air brakes endorsement are listed. Experience is an asset, and knowledge of bills of lading, driver logbooks, inspection reports, trans-border documentation, and trip reports is relevant.
