Job Overview JSG’s client is embarking upon a major restructuring of the Alberta Energy Market. The Restructured Energy Market (REM) program will be a major organization wide multi-year undertaking involving implementing new 3rd party systems, integration with other new and existing systems, to deploy a new Energy Settlement System (ESS) and Marketing Management System (MMS) into operations within an aggressive timeline (~3 years). Reporting to the Team Lead Business Analysis, we are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Business Analyst with a background in the electrical utility sector to join our dynamic team. This role is responsible for understanding and documenting business requirements, including Soft Launch requirements, and supporting solution configuration, delivery, operational readiness, and the transition to the restructured energy market. The role is expected to provide business analysis support through Soft Launch and feasibly Go-Live, and post-implementation stabilization. This is a 12-month term targeting October 2026 for a start date. Qualifications 10+ years of experience in business analysis or a related role, with specific experience in the electrical utility industry. Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements in the electrical utility sector. Strong understanding of electrical utility operations, including grid management,asset management, and customer engagement. Knowledge of energy trading Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, such as SQL, Excel, and data visualization software. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Proven track record of leading successful projects from inception to implementation, delivering measurable business value. Experience and knowledge of change management principles and methodologies to ensure stakeholder buy-in. Experience managing multiple cross-functional projects to implement new and complex business lines. Adaptability and resilience to respond to evolving priorities and timelines. Effective communicator with strong written and oral communication skills. Accountabilities Include Lead the definition, validation, and traceability of Soft Launch requirements, including entry and exit criteria, business readiness measures, operating scenarios, and stakeholder acceptance needs. Support Soft Launch planning and execution by coordinating business activities, validating end-to-end processes, identifying readiness gaps, and supporting issue triage and resolution. Contribute to Go-Live planning, including cutover activities, business readiness, stakeholder communications, contingency planning, and post-Go-Live support and stabilization. Support the market transition by coordinating requirements and dependencies across business and technology teams, confirming operational impacts, and helping maintain continuity of market operations. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, develop business cases for proposed initiatives. Utilize analytical tools and techniques to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive informed decision-making. Support the cross organizational activities.

Requirements
