Job summary
Junior Farmers’ Association of Ontario (JFAO) is looking for a driven individual to fill the position of Office Administrator. JFAO is a non-profit organization that provides strong programming for Ontario’s up-and-coming rural leaders. This position may be for you if you have strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and love giving back to rural Ontario. This position is a part-time office administration role with the flexibility to make your own schedule and the ability to work from home. The Office Administrator is responsible for providing administrative assistance and stability with respect to running the Junior Farmers’ Association of Ontario (JFAO). The duties of the position include, but are not limited to: Day-to-day office activities including taking and distributing messages, processing basic correspondence, mailings, Century farm sign correspondence and distribution, research, record-keeping and database maintenance. Administrative support for the JFAO executive, provincial board of directors & committees, and the Annual Meeting & March Conference- which may include typing and photocopying, ordering/organizing supplies, coordinating special guests, and attending to take meeting minutes, provided two weeks’ notice of requirements is given. Reviewing and understanding JFAO Constitution, Policies, and any other relevant documentation, and consulting the Past President when in need of clarification. Providing a timely & professional impression of JFAO when dealing with members, alumni, and the public. Additional projects as assigned. Support Exec, Board of Directors and Committees to ensure smooth operation. Job Type: Part-time, Independent Contractor, & Non-Exclusive Engagement Compensation: Hourly rate of $17.95 Advantages: Flexible schedule. Work from home. Potential for extended contract. Schedule: Flexible work week. Requires occasional participation in weekend/evening board meetings. Approximately 15 hours per month. Contract period is August 2026 to July 2027, with opportunity for annual contract renewal in July following a performance review. Education: Secondary School (preferred) Skills and Experience: Strong written and verbal English communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Be proactive and highly organized. Ability to work independently and take initiative. Knowledge of rural and agricultural communities is an asset. Previous experience working with non-profit or charity organization is an asset. Communications: 1 year (preferred).
