Position Summary Our Evening and Overnight Security Guards keep our Victoria sites safe through the busiest evening hours and the quietest, most independence-driven overnight hours - maintaining the peace, safety, and security of all patrons and clients by enforcing property rules, monitoring access control, conducting patrols, and responding to incidents and emergencies. Key Responsibilities Maintain compliance with and enforce property standards, rules, and regulations in a reasonable manner. Utilize tact and diplomacy while interacting with patrons, clients, and unauthorized individuals. Respond to medical emergencies and provide First Aid, CPR, or AED support until medical professionals arrive. Maintain and enforce access control procedures, including managing trespassers and unauthorized persons in a fair and safe manner. Conduct periodic foot patrols of the property to ensure safety and security. Monitor CCTV surveillance systems and identify potential risks or incidents. Investigate incidents and occurrences and draft detailed incident and occurrence reports. Maintain a detailed memo book and ensure accurate reporting on all matters. De-escalate emergency and crisis situations using sound judgment and communication. Assist emergency responders and law enforcement personnel as required. Required Qualifications Valid BC Security Worker Licence Valid OFA 1 Certificate Strong English communication skills (verbal + written reports) Ability to stand, walk, and conduct foot patrols for extended periods Ability to respond to emergencies and make sound decisions in high-stress situations Security or customer service experience; internal candidates require 6 months. Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments (indoors and outdoors) Preferred Qualifications Experience in Loss Prevention / Retail Security is an asset. Strong attention to detail and observational awareness. Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence. Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.
