A company operating in the consumer goods and distribution space is seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper for a two-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who can work independently, bring financial records up to date, and maintain accurate and reliable accounting processes. Reporting to the appropriate finance lead, the Contract Senior Bookkeeper will take ownership of day-to-day bookkeeping activities and month-end close responsibilities. The successful candidate will help address outstanding accounting work, strengthen the accuracy of financial records, and ensure reconciliations and supporting documentation are maintained going forward. What You’ll Do Manage month-end close activities and ensure accounting records are accurate and up to date Prepare and post accruals, adjusting journal entries, and other required accounting transactions Reconcile intercompany balances and investigate discrepancies Prepare, review, and maintain accounting working papers and supporting documentation Complete account reconciliations, including balance sheet accounts Identify and resolve inconsistencies in financial records Address outstanding bookkeeping activities and bring accounts up to date Maintain consistent bookkeeping procedures and month-end processes once outstanding items have been resolved Review existing accounting records and processes to identify issues and determine appropriate solutions Work independently to deliver accurate, complete, and timely accounting results What You Bring Strong hands-on experience in bookkeeping and accounting Demonstrated ability to complete month-end close activities independently Solid knowledge of accruals, journal entries, account reconciliations, and intercompany transactions Strong working-paper preparation, documentation, and recordkeeping skills Experience in consumer goods, manufacturing, distribution, or another inventory-based business is highly desirable Ability to step into an existing accounting environment, learn established processes quickly, and work through outstanding items Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision while managing competing priorities A proactive, dependable approach and commitment to maintaining accurate financial records Why Join This contract offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact by improving the accuracy and completeness of accounting records while helping establish consistent month-end processes.
