Job summary

We are seeking a friendly, professional, and bilingual individual to join a busy visitor information centre in a Front Desk Clerk position. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys meeting people, providing helpful information, and contributing to a welcoming visitor experience. The successful candidate will interact with visitors in person while also responding to telephone and email inquiries. The role involves providing information about local and regional attractions, destinations, events, history, geography, and culture, while developing a strong understanding of the surrounding community and its tourism offerings. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Occasional weekend work, Saturday or Sunday) Contract: September 7, 2026 to on or before October 18, 2026 Key Responsibilities Welcome and assist visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Provide accurate information and recommendations regarding attractions, activities, accommodations, and local services. Respond to visitor inquiries by phone and email. Develop and maintain knowledge of local tourism offerings, history, geography, and culture. Assist with preparing and distributing visitor information materials. Keep visitor areas clean, organized, and welcoming. Support general day-to-day operations of the information centre. Work collaboratively with colleagues and assist with other duties as required. Previous customer service experience. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
