Procurement Specialist 📍 Location: Oakville, ON (Hybrid: Onsite Tuesday to Thursday) 💰 Pay Rate: Up to $39.00/hour + 4% Vacation Pay 🕒 Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week 📅 Start Date: ASAP 📅 Contract End Date: January 21, 2027 About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to join our client team in Oakville, ON. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional with strong purchasing, vendor management, and supply chain coordination experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing goods and services, managing purchase orders, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of products while achieving cost efficiencies and adhering to company policies. Key Responsibilities Purchase goods and services within approved budgets. Ensure materials and equipment are procured from approved suppliers and delivered according to agreed terms. Compare vendor pricing and evaluate supplier proposals to make sound purchasing decisions. Negotiate pricing, shipping methods, and delivery schedules with suppliers and contractors. Manage inventory levels and place orders as required. Review and process purchase requisitions and obtain necessary approvals. Generate, transmit, and prioritize purchase orders. Monitor order acknowledgements, shortages, backlogs, and potential supply interruptions. Track orders and confirm lead times, delivery dates, and costs. Review, update, and maintain purchase orders through completion and closure. Verify invoice accuracy and coordinate with Accounts Payable for payment processing. Ensure supplier compliance with contracts and agreements and report non-conformance issues. Evaluate vendor performance and recommend improvements or changes as needed. Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records within company databases. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to plan and prioritize purchasing activities. Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving opportunities. Qualifications Experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or a related field. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience working with purchase orders, inventory management, and procurement systems. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
