JOB DESCRIPTION Reporting to the VP of Eastern Canada Attending or investigating claims on behalf of our principals to: assess damages, create scopes of repair, interview claimants and witnesses and create scene diagrams Reviewing policy wordings to determine coverage Communicating findings of investigations in a detailed report format Reviewing professional reports related to the claim; such as, engineering, accounting, legal or building consultant Authorizing or denying coverage based on findings and instructions received from our principals Negotiating settlements with insureds and/or claimants based on instructions received from our principals Ensuring that claims are processed in accordance with statutory requirements Investigating suspicious claims The ideal candidate will have: Minimum one year of adjusting experience Have experience in handling property claims Insurance Adjuster Level 1 or 2 License or meet requirements to obtain a Level 1 or 2 license CIP Designation, or working towards CIP Designation Outstanding mathematical, statistical, and problem-solving skills Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and OneNote Experience and ability to navigate a claims management system Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise discretion The ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment Kernaghan Adjusters offers competitive remuneration and excellent benefits.
