Responsibilities ECE Level 1 / Kitchen Assistant Responsibilities * Assist as a 1:1 aid to a child. * Support children's emotional, physical, and behavioural well-being while helping to develop their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills. * Maintain attendance records and complete health and safety checks. * Work with professionals, such as Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Early Interventionists, as required. * Support children through transitions in and out of the classroom. * Participate and engage in team meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities. * Portion, prepare, and serve snacks and meals to children in accordance with established procedures. * Handle and prepare special meals and snacks for children with allergies, vegetarian diets, and other dietary requirements as provided by the Commissary Kitchen. * Ensure proper food storage and safe disposal of food items. * Comply with all food safety, sanitation, health, and hygiene regulations. * Clean and sanitize appliances, utensils, kitchen equipment, counters, cupboards, and drawers. * Sweep and mop floors after meal service and remove garbage and recycling at the end of each shift. * Assist with the preparation of food for field trips, school-age programs, and community events as required. * Support the overall operation of the centre by maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children and staff. Requirements

Candidates must hold an ECE Level 1 certification, a valid Food Handler certificate, and current First Aid/CPR training. A criminal record and vulnerable sector check are also mandatory for this position.
