The honour of assisting our children and families has been entrusted to Kina Gbezhgomi Child and Family Services by the United Chiefs and Councils of Mnidoo Mnising & Wikwemikong Unceded Territory. The core objective of KGCFS is to serve the member First Nation communities through prevention and protection activities that are designed to culturally maintain and nourish the dignity and integrity of the Anishinabek family system by offering various supportive choices. Moreover, providing services through a culturally serviced delivery model to families to move towards healthy family lifestyles for their Anishinabek children, families, and communities.

Provide after-hours, weekend, and statutory-holiday screening and emergency child protection coverage, responding to allegations that children or youth need protection and issues involving children or youth in care. Work with the Service Supervisor to take and process initial agency calls in accordance with applicable legislation, standards, and Agency policies.

Deliver the Foster Care Program in accordance with the serviced First Nation's unity, traditions, values, beliefs, customs, funding agreements, and standards. Apply social work practices alongside Anishinaabe methods to support children, youth, and families in achieving healthier lifestyles.

Share caregiving duties for children and youth in the Kingsway Home, implement behavioral programming, and provide support services and life skills coaching in a safe environment. Promote secure attachment, emotional regulation, and resilience while following applicable legislation, ministry standards, agency policies, and First Nation community codes of conduct.

Deliver mandated child protection services, including assessment, investigation, intervention, and ongoing case management for children, youth, and families. Work across assigned service areas to promote safety, well-being, permanency, and connection to culture and community.

Provides administrative and operational support to the Services Department, including coordination, record management, reporting, communication, and other administrative functions. Supports compliance with Agency policies, Ministry standards, and legislative requirements while contributing to a culturally safe and collaborative workplace.
