Role Description The Mechanical Engineer will work on-site full time at our Selkirk, MB facility, contributing to the design, analysis, and optimization of mechanical systems and machinery. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and reviewing mechanical designs, creating and updating CAD models and drawings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to refine product specifications and resolve technical issues. The role involves participating in R&D activities, testing prototypes, analyzing performance data, and implementing design improvements that support efficiency and sustainability goals. The Mechanical Engineer will also support project planning, coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing teams, and ensure designs meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Qualifications Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to apply core principles to design, analysis, and problem-solving. Proficiency in Machine Design, including component selection, mechanisms, and systems integration. Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling, drafting, and design documentation. Capability in Project Management, including planning, scheduling, coordinating resources, and tracking deliverables. Experience in Research and Development (R&D), including prototype testing, performance evaluation, and iterative design improvement. Relevant academic background such as a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail and a focus on safety and quality. Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams on-site. Familiarity with industry standards, material selection, and manufacturing processes is an asset.
