Job summary

Our client, a North American leader in plastic product manufacturing with advanced printing capabilities, is hiring experienced Flexographic Press Operators for its Markham, Ontario facility. This position requires hands-on experience operating fast-paced, fully computerized CI gearless flexographic printing presses. Candidates whose experience is primarily with manual or stack presses may not be suitable for this equipment. Press Operator Details Permanent, full-time opportunity following a successful one-week assessment period Location: Markham, Ontario Night shift: 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. *Initial training will be completed on the day shift Up to $33/hr with Additional $1.50 per hour night-shift premium 5% annual bonus and Two weeks of vacation Comprehensive benefits following the probationary period Press Operator Responsibilities Set up, operate, and monitor fully computerized CI gearless flexographic printing presses. Complete press setups for production runs, including loading materials, entering settings, calibrating equipment, and preparing inks. Operate fast-paced machinery while consistently meeting production targets and quality requirements. Monitor registration, colour consistency, print quality, and production output throughout each run. Work with eight-colour printing, polyethylene materials, and solvent-based inks. Inspect and test finished printed materials to ensure they meet customer specifications and quality standards. Verify, track, and document raw materials, work-in-progress, waste, and completed production. Troubleshoot press and print-quality issues and complete routine operator-level maintenance. Support and train press assistants and newly hired team members. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE, and immediately report hazards or equipment concerns. Work overtime or extended shifts, including shifts of up to 12 hours, when required to meet production demands. Press Operator Qualifications Minimum three years of recent experience operating fully computerized, gearless CI flexographic printing presses. Demonstrated experience with eight-colour printing. Experience printing on polyethylene materials using solvent-based inks. Strong press setup, operation, troubleshooting, and quality-control experience. Ability to operate and keep pace with fast-running, automated printing equipment. Experience setting up and operating an Allstein FNK flexographic printing press is considered a strong asset. Experience limited primarily to stack presses or manual presses may not meet the technical requirements of this position. High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong time-management, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to train on the day shift before transitioning to nights. Ability and willingness to work overtime during peak production periods. Must be able to reliably commute to the Markham facility for both day-shift training and regular night shifts. Must successfully complete a criminal background check.

Requirements
