KIT Recruitment is searching for an experienced Senior Accountant – Audit to join an established organization in a key financial reporting and accounting position. This is an excellent opportunity for a Big 4 audit professional who is ready to move into industry — or someone who has already made that move and wants to continue building their career in a complex, multi-entity environment. You’ll take ownership of consolidated financial reporting, balance sheet integrity, intercompany accounting, audit coordination and technical IFRS accounting while working closely with finance teams across multiple entities. Big 4 Audit experience, IFRS knowledge and a CPA designation (or near completion) are essential for this opportunity. Senior Accountant – Audit - Details: Salary: $75,000–$90,000 annually Location: Etobicoke, ON Work Arrangement: In-person Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Senior Accountant – Audit - Responsibilities: Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements across multiple entities. Manage consolidation activities including intercompany eliminations, foreign exchange translation, CTA and equity movements. Ensure consolidated reporting agrees to entity trial balances, lead sheets and supporting schedules. Prepare reporting packages and coordinate month-end information with domestic and international finance teams. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepaid schedules, inventory provisions and period-end journal entries. Maintain fixed asset registers and capex tracking, including depreciation, roll-forwards, project spending and assets under construction. Support current and deferred tax schedules and Canadian transaction tax filings, including GST/HST and PST/RST. Incorporate technical accounting requirements including IFRS 9 and IFRS 16 into financial reporting. Own the intercompany reconciliation process, ensuring balances are reconciled and resolved before consolidation. Maintain balance sheet integrity reporting and investigate material or aged reconciling items. Support COGS and gross margin analysis by product line, division and facility. Lead the internal and external audit PBC process, preparing schedules, supporting documentation and coordinating auditor requests through resolution. Prepare financial tables, tie-outs and variance information supporting management reporting and MD&A. Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts while reviewing work completed by junior and intermediate accounting staff. Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on Canadian accounting and compliance matters. Support reporting, consolidation and finance-process improvements. Senior Accountant – Audit - Qualifications: Big 4 accounting firm experience within Audit is required. Strong practical knowledge of IFRS is required. Canadian CPA designation OR CPA candidate expected to complete the designation within approximately 6 months. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or a related discipline. Progressive full-cycle accounting experience within Canada. Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, audit processes and general ledger accounting. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups and large-volume data reconciliation. Strong analytical ability and exceptional attention to detail. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet firm reporting deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience preparing consolidated financial statements for multi-entity and/or multi-currency organizations. Knowledge of IAS 2, IAS 16, IFRS 9 and IFRS 16. Experience with ERP implementations, migrations or finance-process automation. Food manufacturing or another inventory-intensive industry background. Experience with inventory costing and cost of goods sold. Exposure to multi-site manufacturing or processing operations.
