Job summary

Kitchener Executive Consultants Inc. has partnered with a leading manufacturer of refrigeration and HVAC systems, serving specialized transportation and industrial markets, in their search for an experienced Test Engineer. The Test Engineer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and documenting laboratory and field testing activities for refrigeration and HVAC components and completed systems. The Test Engineer will develop detailed test plans, establish testing methodologies, operate sophisticated testing equipment, collect and analyze performance data, and provide recommendations that contribute to product improvement and innovation. The role also involves troubleshooting system issues, identifying root causes of failures, supporting prototype development, and participating in product certification and validation programs. Working within a highly collaborative engineering environment, the Test Engineer will utilize environmental chambers, airflow benches, data acquisition systems, sensors, instrumentation, and various laboratory equipment to evaluate system performance under a wide range of operating conditions. The individual will ensure compliance with industry standards including ASHRAE, SAE, ISO, UL, and CSA requirements while maintaining accurate documentation, calibration records, preventive maintenance schedules, and detailed technical reports. Our ideal candidate will be analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in both laboratory and engineering environments. Strong technical writing skills, the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, and a demonstrated history of troubleshooting complex mechanical or electro-mechanical systems are essential. Experience with HVAC controls, product certification programs, or professional certifications related to engineering or HVAC technologies is a must. Our Client’s preferred Salary Target is $80 000 - $100 000 and we encourage all applicants interested in this opportunity to apply.
