We are looking to add two Welders to join our Fleet Repair and Maintenance team in Winnipeg, MB. As part of our experienced and cohesive team, the Welder is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs to our fleet equipment as well as some fabrication project work. Job skills include SMAW, GMAW (steel) GMAW (aluminum) in the repair and modification of heavy trailing equipment and the fabrication of assemblies required for use with this equipment. Trailing equipment to be repaired and modified will include (but is not limited to): flat deck trailers, intermodal containers, end dump and pneumatic tank trailers, and occasional special projects. Some mechanical disassembly and reassembly of the equipment may be required in order to perform the required welding and maintenance repairs. The full-time, permanent shift offers 40 hours per week, working Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Position Requirements: * Looking for some experience, either hands-on or from pre-employment programs at technical colleges * Mechanical aptitude to diagnose and conduct small repairs as needed * Preference given to candidates with experience working on tractors/trailers or in similar environments * Strong work ethic and attendance * Good communication skills * Must be physically fit (able to lift approx. 50 lbs., kneeling and crouching for extended periods of time) * Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members * Must have own tools (or willingness to build a toolbox – tool allowance see below) and safety boots * Demonstrated safety knowledge and awareness * Commitment to continuous learning * Experience working in a shop environment an asset * The successful candidate will require reliable transportation as our facility is located outside of public transport *Pre-employment drug testing is mandatory for this position as it is deemed safety sensitive.
