Since commencing operations in 1988, Knappett has grown to be a leading provider of civil construction services for major infrastructure, residential subdivision development, underground utility installation & replacement, road building, land clearing projects in British Columbia. Over the past 30 years Knappett Industries Ltd. has maintained a strong and accelerating growth rate, with operations currently serving Western Canada. Responsibilities: Follow all safety protocols and contribute to the success of the safety program Operate required equipment safe and efficiently Grading, trenching, backfilling, ditching Keep machines clean and ensure any repairs or damage is immediately reported Perform daily pre and post inspections and follow daily maintenance practices Requirements: Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner 3+ years’ heavy equipment operating experience in civil construction and municipal upgrade projects Professional demeanor when dealing with the public, crew, and client Able to work outside in all-weather at all times of the year Minimum three years’ experience in civil construction Ability to work as a team as well as independently when required Physically fit and able to lift 50 pounds or more Ability to take and follow instruction Able to do extensive physical labour Valid provincial driver’s license Assets: Recent working experience in similar role 5 years+ experience in civil construction and municipal upgrade projects First aid training Location: Port Alberni, BC Compensation will be determined by the successful applicant’s level of training and experience.
