IT Specialist – VMware Location: Edmonton, AB (Hybrid) Position Type: Contract Experience: Mid-Level (MT) Job Summary We are seeking an experienced VMware Implementer / Infrastructure Architect with expertise in VMware architecture, design, implementation, and upgrade projects. The resource will support the planning and execution of an existing VMware environment upgrade from vSphere 8 to VCF 9.x across multiple data centres in Canada and the US. Key Responsibilities Work with an established team of solution architects to plan and execute the VMware environment upgrade to VCF 9.x. Provide input to infrastructure project deliverables, including schedules, test plans, test results, implementation plans, and transition-to-operations documentation. Develop, implement, and review support processes to ensure compliance with policies, standards, and regulatory requirements. Ensure appropriate risk mitigation throughout the implementation. Mandatory Technical Skills VMware Architecture, Design, and Implementation. VMware environment upgrade from vSphere 8 to VCF 9.x. Workload migration to VCF 9.x. VMware technologies: SRM NSX-T vSphere vSAN vLCM Desired Skills Experience leading VMware Disaster Recovery (DR) and High Availability (HA) testing, including SRM and vSphere Replication. VMware professional certifications/training: VCP-DCV (Data Center Virtualization / vSphere) VCP-NV (Network Virtualization / NSX) VCP-TKG (Tanzu Kubernetes Grid)

Requirements

Desired qualifications include leading disaster recovery and high availability testing with SRM and vSphere Replication, as well as VMware VCP-DCV, VCP-NV, or VCP-TKG certification or training.
