Clinic Support Worker

About the position: The Clinic Support Worker will provide janitorial duties on regular basis as required within the health facility; provide minor maintenance as assigned by immediate supervisor; cross train for Community Health Representative, Cultural Support Worker, Home Health Aide, Medical Transportation Clerk, Parent Support Worker and Dental Aide; This position is required to order supplies, do inventory control, and to work with the supervisor to maintain the clinic/facility in an appropriate and cost-effective manner. Duties: Sweep/mop/dust floors and damp mop the main entrance or other soiled floor areas as necessary; Ensure that garbage/debris is removed from clinic/facility and surrounding grounds and transferred to an appropriate refuse container outside the clinic/facility; Cross-train for Community Health Representative, Community Cultural Support Worker, Home Health Aide, Medical Transportation Clerk, Parent Support Worker and Dental Aide; Qualifications: Minimum grade 10 education; WHIMS and First Aid/CPR (or willing to obtain) Willing to learn new skills and work within the health care team; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to speak/understand Cree and knowledge of the Cree culture is as asset; Satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Screening; Class 5 Driver’s license preferred, but not required;

The Clinic Support Worker is responsible for janitorial duties, minor maintenance, and inventory control to maintain the health facility. Additionally, the role involves cross-training for various support positions such as Community Health Representative and Dental Aide.

Candidates must have at least a grade 10 education and be willing to obtain WHMIS and First Aid/CPR certifications. A satisfactory criminal record check and a Class 5 driver's license are preferred or required.
