Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing water damage, performing restoration and mitigation activities, and safely removing or managing invasive species as required on job sites. The role involves operating restoration equipment, following safety and industry standards, documenting work performed, and maintaining clean, organized project areas. The Technician collaborates with supervisors, team members, and clients, providing clear updates on progress and ensuring work is completed efficiently and to quality expectations. Qualifications Experience with water damage assessment and water damage restoration in residential and commercial settings. Knowledge of mitigation techniques to prevent further property damage and support effective recovery. Ability to identify and manage invasive species or related environmental concerns on job sites. Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members, supervisors, and clients. Attention to detail, ability to follow safety protocols, and willingness to work in varied conditions (e.g., wet, dusty, confined spaces). Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using restoration tools and equipment. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in the Ottawa area. Previous experience in restoration, construction, or a related field is an asset; relevant training or certifications in restoration or safety (e.g., WHMIS, first aid) are beneficial.
